Inside Out

I believe that in order to gain strength you have to allow people to see your vulnerability. Being able to love myself was once an unimaginable concept for me. I could had my family and friends right by my side and I would still feel very much alone in my own depression. My weight issues became something that I let control my entire life and I felt like I couldn't get past it. I never let anyone see the insecurities because I didn't want to be the depressing fat chick lol so I kept my head held high for the public when in reality it was all a front.

I got to the point where I realized  that it was a lot easier for me to convince people that I was happy with myself rather than for me to actually feel that way so I decided to make a drastic change. I went on a very strict diet and began an intensive at home workout regimen. I was able to lose 50 pounds. With the help of my new lifestyle change & began noticing huge changes in my body but not my mindset. I was still extremely unhappy and for the life of me I could not understand why. I lost the weight, people where always complimenting me and making a big deal of it but I couldn't join in their excitement for ME!

I changed the outside but I hadn't even begun to work on the inside. My self image was screwed the hell up from the core and NO AMOUNT OF WEIGHT LOSS COULD CHANGE THAT. I had finally had enough of me being my worst enemy. I looked at the little things and began to develop a relationship with my own self. I would stare at myself in the mirror and appreciate my big nose, my thighs, my belly rolls, my butt, my smile and overtime I fell in love with the girl in the mirror. It was a journey but in the end I learned to love myself from the inside out. I share my journey  in hopes that someone can be inspired to begin their own. Self discovery is a path that can be winding and full of hurdles to jump but you will never get anywhere until your brave enough to take the first step.

Diving into Swimwear

Yay!! Its officially summertime the ultimate vacation full of Beaches, BBQs, & Pool Parties. I don't know about you guys but I live in HOT-lanta so I plan to get wet this summer no pun intended lol. I know some curvy ladies fear the swimsuit because they are scared they cant pull it off but I'm here to tell you that's A DAMN LIE. The keys to looking  and feeling amazing in your swimwear is to choose the correct swimsuit for your particular figure, Accessorize, Take a Risk, & more importantly be very confident/comfortable in it.

Figures:

  • BIG H.A.T. (Hips, Ass, & Thighs)- Try a High Waste 2 piece they have a lot of Bottom slimming Support. Also applies for a fluffy tummy area!
  • TOP HEAVY- A sexy one piece with lots of upper body support is perfect ALSO take a safe risk with a 2 piece and wear a strapless bra underneath for extra support.
Comfort Tip: If you purchase swimwear and your still a little apprehensive about strutting around in public do a practice trail! Walk around the house with it on for a few days, Put it on to go get the mail, or even try it on in front of your pets lol. This may sound silly but I'm telling you this technique works it allows you the opportunity to get a feel for how u look in the swim wear and make you more comfortable in it!

"Titties" Talk

They come in all different shapes and sizes...some more perky than others lol but whether you call them Titties,The Girls, Hooters it honestly dose not matter we are all talking about the same thing your BREASTS.    I LOVE my breasts..I wear a size 40D and I'm very proud of my girls!

These are not mine by the way! This is my lovely model IG: @REALCAKEYYY

Care Taking
Taking proper care of your breasts is essential especially if your a woman with a larger bust. A lot of young women are actually unaware of  how to take properly care of their breast and this usually leads to future health issues. Breast care goes beyond putting on a bra and leaving the house.

1. Get your bra size checked once a year: Bra sizes change more frequently than you think and wearing the wrong size bra can alter the shape of your breasts....No one likes funny looking booies lol. Lane Bryant & Victoria Secret will measure your bra size effectively FOR FREE without you even having to take your clothes off.

2. Check Your Breasts For Lumps: When you go for your annual checkups learn how to check your breasts for lumps. Breast Cancer can be permanently removed if detected early on so checking yourself out could be something that is possibly life saving. You can check in the shower or at night in bed it dose not matter whenever you feel comfortable. Its just another excuse to touch yourself lol.

3.Get Annual Mama-grams: Typically around the age of 40 ALL Ladies should be getting annual mama-grams. I'm only 20 so I've never experience one for myself but I heard that the test is a bit painful. Honestly a few minutes of pain is worth keeping track of your health.

Different Bras are For Different Reasons

Everyday & Exercise: The worst feeling in the world is when your exercising and your boobies are just flopping around everywhere that's no bueno! The best place to get sports bras & Everyday wear with major support is JC Pennys & Macy's. They have great selection on their website and their affordable. Lane Bryant & Ashley Stewart are both great as well but they are a little bit more pricey.
JC Penny

Glamorise® Bra, No Bounce Back Close Sports 1066

Sexytime: Yes on to the good stuff! Cute Bras are just as important to any women...They make us feel like little sex kittens and we all REALLY need that feeling with or without a partner to share it with. My favorite place for cute sexy supportive bras is LANE Bryant! There a little pricey (30$-50$) but they are comfortable and VERY WORTH IT! They always have a Semi- Annual sale buy 2 get 2 which is currently going on so I will be there very soon with an update!

The Boy in The Dark Hoodie

This Trayvon Martin Case is one of the saddest things I've ever seen in this county by far. People always say the more things change the more they stay the same and of that I'm a firm believer. Black people have come too far just to be put back into Jim Crow. The even bigger picture than the obvious race issue is the fact that this is someone's child! Mothers have it hard enough raising their children in this crazy word we live and then  incidents like this happen and you get the feeling that no one is safe. The prosecutor made the statement that Zimmerman did not have to kill Trayvon he CHOSE to....how can you argue that?

I will be following this Case & Praying for the Martin family. We NEED Justice For Trayvon and ALL other children without a voice!

YUMMY: Almost Homemade Jambalaya Pasta

"Yummy" will be my food segment I will try to post at least one to two new recipes per week for you guys. I love to cook and try new things in the kitchen and if like pasta and New Orleans cuisine you should enjoy this simple pasta dish! I got this idea from Ruby Tuesdays I love their Jambalaya Pasta and I hope you guys enjoy mine!

My Ingredients:
1 Pack of Fettuccine Pasta (Or whatever your prefer)
Salt & Black Pepper
1 Can of Chicken Broth
Olive Oil
Chopped Garlic
Chicken Breast
New Style Orleans Sausage (Andouille or Smoked) I used Johnsonville N.O.Style
Chicken Breast
1 Medium Red Onion Chopped
1 Red, Yellow and Green Bell Pepper Chopped
2 Tsp Liquid Smoke
4 Tb Worcestershire Sauce
Cajun Seasoning  (Whatever brand your prefer)
1 Can Tomatoes with Green Chilies
Cleaned Uncooked Shrimp Deveined
The Cheating Ingredients:
Bertolli Original Alfredo Sauce
1 Tb Brown Sugar

1. In a Frying pan Add Olive Oil, Chopped Chicken, Chopped Sausage, Chopped Onions, and Garlic and let that cook for about 15 mins Then add in Worcestershire Sauce, Liquid Smoke, and Cajun Seasoning as you let the chicken cook.

2. Let the "chicken pan" cook....In a Large Pot add water, chicken broth, salt and black pepper to boil the noodles in for about 10 mins or until noodles are tender. Drain the noodles and Keep a cup of the chicken broth to add to the sauce mixture later.

3.When all the ingredients in the "chicken pan" have finished cooking completely add in the canned tomatoes/ chilies, and let that heat and mash up. Add in the extra chicken broth and the Bertolli Alfredo Sauce....Stir in Brown Sugar. When it comes to a boil add in the shrimps they cook SUPER quick they will be done in about 5 mins or less (until they turn pink) then turn the heat off immediately. Serve sauce mixture over pasta & Enjoy!

Fluffy Figures Dating Guide

Its summertime, the season of budding romances and exciting new flings! If your a  Fluffy lady out there looking for love or even just want to start dating again it can be a scary if your not prepared. Just like everything else in life dating has its Do's & Don'ts especially when your a curvy lady.

1. Be Open to New Things: Dating is all about meeting new people so you have to be open to new experiences. Try taking new risks in your wardrobe for date night, Let your date take control and show you some new places, and of course Try new food. Date different kinds of people you never know who or what you may like about a person. If you never dated someone outside your race TRY IT you may love it! If you never tried online dating TRY IT you may love it! If you never dated a Loser....You're a Liar lol. But seriously Its all about being open, Trying something new and having fun.

2. Don't Give Up All The Goods: You have to keep it classy Ladies! This goes for ALL women but especially my Fluffy ladies out there, don't go on a date  dressed like your about to audition to become a pole dancer at Magic City. Less is More and in many cases you can catch more bees with Honey than Hoes (Or however that phrase goes lol). The easiest way to prevent yourself from showing too much is use the Peek-A-Boo Method meaning pick your favorite asset whether it be your H.A.T. (Hips, Ass, and Thighs) or your Boobs or your Long legs....whatever it is PICK ONE and wear an outfit that accentuates it. Give your date a PEEK at what could come next believe me they will appreciate it and keep coming back for more.

3. Don't Force It: My final tip for those of you in the dating pool is don't force it! If it aint working move on, there's no need to waste your time with a Fool. If you see that there are qualities in a person that you cant deal with don't force yourself to stick it out. The tip within this tip is don't be desperate there are PLENTY of fish in the sea and if your dating a bum ass fish your not letting in room for other big strong fish to swim by. Set some realistic standards AND STICK TO THEM! Don't rush into relationships just enjoy getting to know the person and you will never go wrong!

Shopping With Purpose

If you are a plus size chick you know that staying trendy and fashionable can sometimes be a bit of a task. Most people think that every woman loves to shop but when your not comfortable in your own skin shopping can become more of a discouragement than anything else. I've had my fair share of  Dressing-Room DISASTERS to say the least and from that I have learned more effective ways to shop.

1. Learn Your Sizes: One of the most effective techniques to shopping for ladies of all shapes and sizes is also the most basic LEARN YOUR DAMN SIZE! As crazy as it may sound we are not all size 5's so why pretend? Now I know that not all sizes are cut the same but you should at least learn your correct size in your favorite clothing stores. For Example I LOVE OLD NAVY and Through trial and error I've learned that I wear a size 18 in their jeans so I never waste time trying on anything that's too far from that...saving me time and disappointment. (Side Note: When working out Sizes do change overtime so try new sizes to show your progress)

2. Avoid "Blind" Online Shopping: There is absolutely nothing wrong with online shopping in actuality that is sometimes where you fine the greatest stuff! The problems only come in when you start making blind purchases without LEARNING YOUR SIZE! When online shopping it is a lot more critical to go back to my first tip because you never actually get to try on the clothes until after you make the purchase. Online boutiques are still actual boutiques so Through the same trial and error you should gain understanding of the sizes you wear for different websites by ordering familiar sizes and testing the fit. (Side Note: Be punctual if you have a specific event to prepare for order in a timely manner and give yourself time for the trial and error size selection)

3. Make Changes: My Third and final tip to more eventful shopping is MAKE A CHANGE! If you absolutely hate shopping because you are not happy with the size you are work towards your new body goals. There is nothing more motivating than shopping for cute new workout gear. There's nothing wrong with looking fabulous in the gym! Start shopping for workout accessories Yoga mats, Headbands, Sneakers...ect. Shopping for workout gear is always productive because there is something out there for all ..... (Side Note:YOGA PANTS FIT EVERYONE lol)
